He divulged that “Sleepwalker” has gone through changes since we first heard a snippet last April, and it's a newer version on the album. He disappeared after Big Time Rush in order to “figure out what I wanted to do, what kind of art I wanted to create, and what stories I wanted to tell.” The video for “Sleepwalker” will be posted tomorrow and there's one more teaser being put out today.
The full album should be done within the next month and will be released “whenever I feel is right.” He described it as more grungy with inspirations from Nirvana, Tupac, The Police, and Aaliyah. They were going for a less polished, raw sound. This album will be “very revealing, very honest, and it's a form of therapy as well, so it's nice to kind of be able to get in and write what's on your mind.” Someone asked about the amount of cursing on his explicit songs and he answered, “Not too much, just whenever I feel like it. I've got a lot of love, but I've got a sailor's mouth.” The album does have a central theme but each song stands on its own.
Logan would love to visit countries he's never been to and promises touring will follow the album.
“Sleepwalker” is about “this guy trapped inside this inception-type dream and memories of his past relationship and is kind of a story about self-reflection and having the idea that some of those thoughts and ideas are kind of hard to get away from sometimes.” He described the video as an abstract storytelling of that.
He's not afraid of going solo, which has been on his mind for a few years. “It's about trying to get everything together and get it right and I think I'm able to finally tell my stories and express myself musically the way I want to and it's a wonderful thing.”
As for being back on stage, he said, “I've enjoyed my time in the studio, that's kind of my happy place, so I love making music in the studio but being live on stage is a whole different animal. I'm very excited mainly to see everybody and to be able to sing again with everyone at the shows.”
The inevitable question about a Big Time Rush reunion was brought up, and Logan's response was this: “I think everybody's pretty happy and moving forward on their solo projects, so there's a lot more content from everyone. Everybody kind of has their own ideas and of course, those are friends for life.” He joked that they might go back to Brazil and do a reunion tour when they're really old.
He admitted that he “keeps his distance” from social media but will try to be better. He has no tattoos yet but has ideas. He loves wine and cheese. His New Year's Resolution was to love as much as he can, be open, and continue with the good vibes.
He's excited about the music and video coming out tomorrow. Be sure to get it on iTunes and Spotify when it comes out in your area! Watch the stream below!
